Bova-Tech Ltd. (BTL), an internationally recognized Alberta-based embryo transplant company, is owned and operated by Dr. Andres Arteaga, with the company's office and embryo storage facility in Rocky View County, Alberta just north of Cochrane.

BTL offers the beef and dairy industries in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba complete commercial embryo transplant services along with international export market opportunities.

In-clinic clients can choose to prepare donor cows on-farm and bring them to the Rocky View County centre for the embryo collection process or have the donor cow(s) housed at the centre for all super-ovulatory treatments, artificial insemination and embryo recovery procedures. Embryos recovered from donor cows can be transferred fresh to synchronized recipients or frozen for transfer at a later date.  Producers choosing to perform on-farm services can depend on BTL to provide all necessary instructions and drugs, including the BTL Export Certified Mobile Lab which covers Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

BTL's team members have extensive experience in the field of embryo transfer and are well versed in the growing and changing needs of the cattle industry. Our goal is to ensure the highest level of customer service.

Dr. Andres Arteaga is the owner/

operator of Bova-Tech Ltd. (BTL).

Andres was born and raised in the heart of a commercial and pure-bred Angus cattle operation in Chihuahua, Mexico. From a young age he worked with the family's cattle which aspired him to be a veterinarian. He saw that there would be a need in the future for producing quality cattle to meet the exponential population growth of the world.

After attending veterinary school in Mexico, Andres moved to Canada and earned his Master's Degree in Veterinary Science, specializing in Theriogenology (bovine reproduction) from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. After completing his studies and graduating he went on to teach Theriogenology for a few years at the college. He then moved to Airdrie in 2003 and has been working as an Embryo Transfer Veterinarian while managing his small herd of purebred registered cattle.

Andres is a Certified member of the Canadian Embryo Transfer Association where he has been serving as a board director since 2016. He is very passionate about providing services that will help to increase his clients' herd productivity and value. Producers can depend on him and his team to optimize their most valuable cows by generating more embryos and pregnancies that will extend the impact of outstanding cattle genetics.

Andres has been the owner of Bova-Tech since 2012 and is proud to lead his team with extensive experience in the field of embryo transfer. He is well versed in the growing and changing needs of the cattle industry and prides himself in ensuring the highest level of customer service while producing top quality embryos.
